Know Your Bills · last updated 10 September 2026
The short version: there is no account, no sign-in, no analytics and no tracking. We do not receive your bills, and we have no way to read them.
What we collect
Nothing. Know Your Bills has no servers that store your information, no login, no advertising identifiers, and no analytics or crash-reporting service. We do not build a profile of you, because we never receive anything to build one from.
Where your bills live
On your devices, and in your own iCloud account. The app backs your bill list up to Apple's iCloud so that a lost or replaced phone can recover it — that backup sits in your personal iCloud storage, under your Apple Account, and we cannot read it. Neither we nor anyone else can retrieve your bills from us, because we never hold them.
You can also export a backup file yourself from within the app, which produces a plain JSON file you control entirely.
The one thing the app fetches
Know Your Bills downloads a single file — the list of help and support resources shown in the app — so that list stays current without needing an app update. That request asks for a file and nothing more: it carries no identifier, no bill data, and nothing about you. It is served from this same domain.
Links out of the app
The app lists third-party organisations, including free and independent UK advice services. Following one of those links takes you to that organisation's own website, governed by their privacy policy rather than this one. Listing them is not an endorsement, and the app is not financial advice.
Some links elsewhere in the app are marked with an asterisk, meaning we may earn a commission if you use them. That never affects what is listed or the order it appears in. The Getting help category never contains a paid or commission-earning link — free advice services are never marked and are never paid for placement.
Children
Know Your Bills is a general-purpose budgeting tool and is not directed at children. It collects nothing from anyone, of any age.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever starts doing something this page does not describe, this page changes first. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised.
